In May 2025, the English FA announced that transgender women would be banned from playing women's football in England from next season.

This followed a similar move by the Scottish FA and also the UK Supreme Court's decision not to include trans women in the definition of women in the Equality Act.

We welcome the Good Law Project's commitment to fight these attempts to make the world an even more hostile place for an already marginalised community.

With a long and expensive fight ahead of us all, we are supporting the Good Law Project's Fighting Fund for trans rights, which will look at both domestic and international cases, all the way up to the European Court of Human Rights.
