The Squad

Baller FC is a group of friends, event producers, DJs, musicians, passionate members of the Queer community and HUGE football fans. We’re building on the success of the game-changing Euros and are on a mission to grow women’s football fandom in every and any way we can.

Baller Friends Collective was started by a group of friends who were tired of scouring the streets of London trying to find a pub showing women’s football matches. “If we were able to find a place, they’d only show it with the volume off,  on a small screen with limited seating options and no atmosphere - it didn’t feel very welcoming”, says Baller FC founding member Selina Travis.

The same group of mates travelled to Lyon in 2019 for the Women’s World Cup final and found fans on street corners celebrating the beautiful game together, regardless of the team they supported. But back in England, finding a pub anywhere with the games on and the sound up was tough. “We set up Baller FC to make a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for people to enjoy watching women’s football. We’re all footy fanatics - we’ve followed both the men’s and women’s competitions our whole lives - but the women’s game is special because of the inclusive culture it brings with it. We want to do whatever we can to build on and grow audiences for it”, explains one of the original Ballers, Jo Clark.

Founder and leader of Baller FC Rachel Gould agrees. “We packed out The Stag’s Head in Hoxton for the Women’s Euros in 2022, and we’ve had a regular crew of fans turning up each weekend for the Internationals, Women’s Super League, and Champions League matches. Now - especially given that flights down under aren’t cheap - we want to create the best Women’s World Cup ever for fans in the UK. This isn’t an exclusive Lionesses party - it’s a celebration for fans from all over the world in London”.

Baller FC are passionate members of the Queer community and started out on their mission to build the fanbase for women’s football in July 2022 by hosting inclusive watch parties at a pub in Hoxton, East London, for all 31 games of the 2022 UEFA Women’s Euros. The event was a hit, with fans queuing around the block, culminating in a packed out pub during the finals witnessing the Lionesses’ ultimate fairytale ending.

EUROS 2022

Hosted at the Stag’s Head in East London, Ballers FC showed all 31 games for the historic Women’s Euros. During our time there we hosted our party night Soccermom, plus fanzines, screen printing events and more.
